Coaches love to trot out their thoroughbreds in the preseason just to battle test their young wards before the season begins in earnest. This is usually done against opponents which teams don't see during the season and very often leads to teams battling schools which they've never met before. It was the kind of moist and muggy mosquito driven evening that makes most folks stay inside with the air conditioner going full blast. That's when the Wallington high school panthers skulked over to Teaneck encounter the Highwaymen. Both teams had peaks and valleys and showed promise once adjustments were made. Both squads sidled up to the line with solidly skilled competent quarterbacks at the helm who are sure to wow the crowds this season. Both New Jersey squads also had a solid crop of running backs to shuttle in and more than a few defensive players who were made of marble and granite. These are the players who come ready, willing and able to rearrange anybody's furniture at a moments notice.
